About SolarDecision
Built by Jacob — a software engineer who lived the solar research struggle
I built SolarDecision after going through the same frustrating process a lot of homeowners hit when researching solar and batteries.
When I first started looking into solar for my own place, I figured it'd be pretty straightforward. Instead I spent hours comparing quotes, reading forums, running payback calculations, and trying to sort out what I could actually trust.
Even after I got solar, it took me another two years to decide on a battery.
Plenty of sales info online, but not enough practical guidance for simple questions like:
- Will this actually save me money?
- How long until it pays itself off?
- Is a battery really worth it for my house?
I built SolarDecision to make that easier for other Australians.
The goal: clearer information, realistic estimates, practical recommendations. So people can decide faster and with more confidence.
I'm also a big believer in renewable energy. Better tools help more households move toward cleaner energy use — that's the aim.
